Wagon Kits
My First wagon Kit for the FGA/FFA container flats was a personal choice for an historically important vehicle in railway development, ironically the responsibility of Dr Beeching. Other than the dated Hornby model, nobody had hitherto made any serious effort to produce an accurate model of these wagons, despite their widespread relevance during the post modernisation era.
At least two organisations had announced their intentions to market such a kit, but, having now completed the development of the kit, I can understand why they failed to materialise. Outwardly a "carriage underframe" the construction is far from simple. I make no apologies for the consequencial complexity of the kit, as I considered it important to accurately reflect the design of the prototype. The fact that these wagons were commonly seen empty, or part loaded, only serves to justify the level of detail.
